How to create and manage mailing list in control panel

Description : 

Mailing lists allow you to use a single address to send mail to multiple email addresses.

List of the names and addresses of people to whom advertising matter, information or other material may be mailed regularly.

Create a mailing list : 

The system includes an interface that allows you to define a name, password, and domain name for the mailing list.

The following steps shows to create a mailing list in control panel.

Step 1 : 

Login to your cPanel using domainname.com/cpanel

Login using the valid login details

Step 2 : 

Enter mailing list in the search box and select Mailing list.

Step 3 : 

Enter the mailing list name in the List Name text box.

Choose the domain name.

Enter and confirm the new password in the appropriate text boxes.

Step 4 :  Select Privacy option

Private — Private archives exist for this mailing list.
The administrator must approve subscriptions, and the Mailman interface does not display the mailing list.

Public — Public archives exist for this mailing list.
The subscriptions are open and the Mailman interface displays the list.

Then click => Add mailing list to create new Mailing list

Now the new mailing list has been successfully created.

Step 5 : Current Lists

Current lists shows the list of mailing list we created.

List Name – The mailing list’s full email address.

Usage – The amount of disk space that the mailing list uses.

Access – The user’s level of access to the mailing list.

Admin – A delimited-by-rows list of email addresses of the mailing list administrators.

Functions – Administrative functions for the mailing list

 

Step 6 : Manage a mailing list

Click => Manage, under Functions

Here we can manage the mailing list, also we can define the various configuration options.

Once done click => Submit Your changes to make the change.

Step 7 : Enable spam filters for a mailing list

Mailman’s Spam Filters feature requires Apache SpamAssassin.

We can enable Apache SpamAssassin in the cPanel, select Enable Apache SpamAssassin in cPanel’s Apache SpamAssassin interface

 

Then click => Manage, under Functions in Mailing list

In the Configuration Categories section at the top, click Privacy options.

Then click => Spam filters.

 

Enter the filter rules that you wish to apply. For more information

Once finished click => Submit Your Changes.

Step 9 : Delegate a mailing list

Once you have delegated administrative privileges to an email user for a list, the user can login to the list’s administrative console from webmail (http://mail.domainname.com/webmail).

Delegate administrative rights to an additional user : 

=> Under Available Users, select the email addresses of the users to whom to delegate administrative rights.
=> Click the right arrow button.
=> Click Save.

Remove administrative rights from a user : 

=> Under List Administrators, select the email addresses of the users from whom to remove administrative rights.
=> Click the left arrow button.
=> Click Save.

Step 10 : Delete a mailing list 

Click => Delete under Funtions, in Mailing list

Click => Delete Mailing List, to delete the mailing list.
